ASI:Work Scheduled: Let Your AI Run the Routine

The best task is the one that's already done when you sit down. Describe a recurring job once, say when it runs, and your AI handles it from there.

There's a special kind of tired that comes from doing the same task every Monday morning. The standup summary. The weekly report. The folder cleanup you keep putting off. You know the steps by heart - that's exactly the problem.

Scheduled tasks in ASI:Work take that job off your plate. Describe the work once, say when it should run - hourly, daily, on weekdays, or weekly - and your AI does it on schedule, in the folder you choose, with the same care it brings when you're watching.

How it goes

Open Scheduled in the sidebar and give the routine a name. Then describe the job the way you'd say it out loud - "read the notes in this folder and write standup.md with what changed last week" - pick the folder it works in, and choose when it runs: hourly, daily, on weekdays, or weekly, at the time you want.

That's the setup. One short page of plain-language boxes - no technical setup, no "every second Tuesday except holidays" gymnastics. You said Monday around 9, and Monday morning it runs.

What people schedule

  • Standup and status summaries - read the week's notes, write what changed, done before you're off mute.
  • Weekly reports - same sources, same shape, written on schedule instead of at 5pm on Friday.
  • Folder tidying - old drafts archived, naming conventions kept, temp files cleared, quietly.
  • Regular digests - anything you'd otherwise ask for by hand every morning.

The pattern is simple: if you'd ask it the same way every time, schedule it once and stop asking.

It runs without you

A schedule runs while the ASI:One desktop app is running and your computer is awake. Step away from your desk and it keeps going. If a run's moment comes and goes while your laptop is asleep or the desktop app is closed, don't worry: the task catches up with its most recent missed run from the past week when you return, then settles into its rhythm again. Every run leaves the same step-by-step record you'd see if you'd been sitting there, so you can read what happened whenever you open the task.

You stay in charge

Scheduled tasks live under Scheduled in the sidebar. Pause one when the routine pauses - holidays, crunch time, whatever. Run one right now instead of waiting for its slot. Delete it when the job goes away. It's your routine; the schedule just holds it for you.

When in doubt, chat

Not sure how to word the job? Don't sweat the form. Try the routine in a chat first - describe it, see what your AI does with it, and when the wording feels right, paste it into the schedule's instructions box. When in doubt, chat.

Hand off one routine

Pick the job you do on autopilot - the one where you could write the instructions in your sleep, because you basically do, every week. That's the one to schedule first. Next Monday, it's just done, and you get to start the week somewhere more interesting.
