Projects: One Place for the Chats and Tasks That Belong Together

Your job hunt has 8 chats. Your wedding has 12. Now they can each be a project - one folder for every chat and scheduled task that belongs to one effort.

You do not have one job hunt chat. You have eight.

The one where you brainstormed your pitch. The one where your AI rewrote your resume for that staff role. The one with the recruiter intro. The one where you compared two offers. The one with the salary research. The one with the interview prep. The thread you keep coming back to for the cover letter angle. And the chat where you set up the scheduled task that scans new SDR roles every morning at 8am.

They are all in the same flat list as your wedding seating chart, your dad’s birthday research, and that random conversation about ramen. Pinning helps you find the most important one. It does not help you find all eight.

Meet Projects

A project is one place for the chats and tasks that belong to one effort.

Job hunt is an effort. Wedding planning is an effort. Your dissertation is an effort. Your side hustle, your move, your fantasy football season, your kid’s college tour - those are all efforts. They each have multiple chats. They often have a few scheduled tasks. Now they can each have a project.

Chats live inside it

Drag any existing chat in, or compose a new one directly on the project page. The chat is created already inside the project.

Tasks live inside it too

Scheduled tasks linked to a chat in the project travel with that chat. Move the chat, the task moves too.

Where to Find It

Open ASI:One. Look at the left sidebar.

There is a new section near the top called Projects. It sits above your pinned chats and above the regular chat list. Each project shows up as a single row. Click a project, you land on its dedicated page.

The section collapses if you do not need it open. Click the Projects header to fold or unfold the list - the same way Chats already works.

Inside a Project

The project page is one screen with everything that belongs to this effort.

  • Chat input box at the top. Type a message and send. Your AI creates a new chat that is already in the project before the first message lands.
  • Chats list. Every chat that lives in this project, newest first.
  • Tasks list. Every scheduled task that lives in this project. Click any task to open its settings drawer right there on the page - no bouncing to the scheduled tasks list.

One page. One effort. Open it in the morning and you see the whole picture without scrolling for it.

Three Ways to Put a Chat in a Project

Pick whichever fits the moment.

1

Drag it from the sidebar

Click and hold a chat in the sidebar. Drag it onto the project row. On mobile, long-press first, then drag. Drop it on the project. Done.
2

Use the chat menu

Open the three-dot menu on any chat. Pick “Move to project.” Pick the project. Same result, no dragging.
3

Compose it inside the project

Open the project page. Type your message in the input box at the top. Hit send. The chat is created inside the project from the start - no follow-up move needed.

Tasks Come Along for the Ride

Here is the part that actually saves you time.

If a chat in the project has a scheduled task linked to it - say, “scan new SDR roles every morning at 8am” - moving the chat into a project also moves the task. The chat and its task stay together. You do not have to re-link anything.

Open your job hunt project tomorrow morning. The morning’s roles digest is sitting in the chat that runs it, in the project where you actually look for that information.

Pro tip

This works in reverse, too. Drag a chat out of one project into another, and any linked task follows. Your work stays organized as your life changes shape.

What People Are Putting in Projects

  • Job hunt. Resume rewrites, recruiter threads, salary research, interview prep, the daily roles digest task.
  • Wedding planning. Seating chart, vendor outreach, registry brainstorm, the weekly RSVP-tracker task.
  • Moving apartments. Neighborhood research, lease comparison, mover quotes, the daily furniture-listings task.
  • Side hustle. Brand brainstorm, pricing, customer-research chats, the weekly newsletter draft task.
  • Kids' soccer season. Practice schedule, carpool coordination, gear list, the game-day reminder task.
  • Dissertation. Literature review chats, advisor feedback, the daily paper-summarization task.

If you can name it as one effort, it can be a project.

Where This Is Going

Today, projects are about organization: chats and tasks in one folder.

Where this is going next: project-scoped knowledge. Your AI will start to remember the project itself, not just the individual chats. Open your wedding project six months from now and your AI will already know your venue, your budget, your guest count, the seating constraints you keep mentioning - because all of that lived in this project the whole time.

The folder comes first. The shared memory comes next.

Coming soon: project-scoped memory

Your AI will treat each project as a single context, not a pile of unrelated chats. Set up the folder today and you are ready when the memory layer ships.

Make Your First Project in 30 Seconds

1

Pick one effort

Look at your life. Pick the one effort with the most scattered chats - the one you scroll for daily. Job hunt, wedding, side hustle, dissertation, move.
2

Hit "New Project" in the sidebar

Name it. That is the whole setup.
3

Drag in the chats that belong

From the sidebar, drag the related chats onto the new project row. Watch your Chats section get shorter and your work get clearer in the same minute.
